Hello Friends!
This week we created with the Stampin’ Up! Sea Turtle stamp set and a Fun Fold. The Envelope Flap Fun Fold is super easy and makes a Wow card! This Sea Turtle set is a Reversible set. This means you can ink up both sides of the stamp, creating a two – step stamping look.
I am super excited as I can actually post the video from Spontaneous Sunday Stamping this week! Woohoo! It appears FB is blocking me from downloading videos and now tonight it would not let me go LIVE. Crazy! We ended p going Live on Rebecka’s FB page and sharing. Then it let me download, edit and all do all the tings I usually do. I am working on another option, it will just take me a bit to get it all set up.
Since we used the same fold and stamp set the directions are pretty close to the same, except for the colors.
Create a Fun Fold Template
The first thing we did was make a template for our Envelope Flap Fun Fold. Our plan is to create a template when we share a Fun Fold. Then we will store them so we can refer back to them when we are looking for a new fold or can’t remember all of the measurements. Typically when I want to do a fold and I can’t remember the measurements I head straight to Pinterest. But you know what happens on Pinterest, right? I get sucked into the never ending hole of creative ideas! Lol Then I may or may not ever get to making a card. Ugh! Does that happen to you? Tell me in the comments!
Anyway we will use retired cardstock, DSP and it may not even match! Once you get your cardstock & DSP cut and layered you will want to grab a Sharpie and write the measurements & the Fun Fold name on the template. Boom! You have a Fun Fold Template.
Next create your card
Card number one is in the left and the base is Sahara Sand (4 1/4” x 5 1/2”) and card number two on the right is Coastal Cabana base. We cut the basic white (5 1/4” x 8”, scored @ 4”) and then the “flap” is cut from the By the Bay DSP (3 3/4” x 3 3/4”). Now take that square and fold in half, point to point, creating a triangle. We glued the the flap to the white and then attached to the card base.
We both decided to use the gorgeous DSP to cover the front of the card (4” x 5 1/4”). Next we stamped our turtles, fussy cut them and used Stampin Dimensionals to adhere to the flap.TIP: add the dimensionals to the flap then lay the turtle on top of them. I used a stamped & fussy cut Star Fish to secure the turtle flap closed. Rebecka used a baby turtle to secure her Momma turtle. Then we added linen thread, bling and Wink of Stella.
